Richard Lonnie Franks, Sr.

Richard Lonnie Franks, Sr., age 67, of Caitlin Lane, Lexington passed away Thursday (July 7, 2011) at Rowan Regional Medical Center.    Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday (July 10, 2011) at Victory Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Roy Franks and Rev. Jackie Franks.  Burial will follow in Victory Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church from 3:00 until 4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service and at other times at the home.   Richard was born in Davidson County, September 3, 1943 to Raymond Lester Franks and Sarah Elaine Faw Franks.  He was a retired truck driver with Danny Nicholson Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Franks.   Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Temple Franks of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Renea Franks of Salisbury; three sons, Richard L. Franks, Jr., and Kenneth Lee Franks both of Linwood and Ronnie Dale Hughes of Lexington; five grandchildren, Cassandra Spears, Maranda Jean Owens, Faith Hunter Franks, Christina Hope Franks and Cody Ryan Hooker; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rev. Roy Franks and Ray Franks both of Lexington and Rev.
