Richard Thomas Gallaher

Richard Thomas Gallaher, age 88, of Lexington, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 28, 2025.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 2, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 1. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Memorial Park at a later date.

Born on February 10, 1937, in Brownsville, PA, Richard was the son of George William and Eleanor Tunney Gallaher. He worked for many years as a Tank Captain at PPG Industries; and after retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law George William and Marlene Gallaher, granddaughter Alyssa Fowler, sons-in-law Grady Swicegood and Mark Johnson

He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Caroline Gallaher; daughters, Joy Johnson, Dorothy Jean Swicegood, Mary Ann Gallaher, and Sandra Leonard; grandchildren, Elizabeth Thompson (Terry), Robby Motsinger (Sara), Melissa Tuttle (Michael), Joseph Finney (Holly), Corey Robinette (Abby), Ariana Phillips (Dustin), and Emily Leonard; along with 15 great-grandchildren.
