Richard Vernon Hanes

Richard Vernon Hanes , 77 of City Lake Road in Lexington, passed away Sunday September 6, 2020 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday September 10, 2020 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Everhart conducting services.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday September 9, 2020 at the home on City Lake Road.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, those that are planning to attend the memorial service, are ask to practice social distancing and to wear a mask.

Mr. Hanes was born November 17, 1942 in Davidson County to Melvin Vestal Hanes and Annie Ethel Miller Hanes. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Wendy Hanes and a brother Charles Hanes.

Surviving are his wife Patsy Hanes of the home; his daughter Heather Davis (Gary) of Rocky Mount.; a brother, Phil Hanes of Lexington; two sisters, Diane Brittin (Harry) and Debbie Bumgarner (Ricky) both of Lexington; and 2 grandchildren Lilyanna and Austin.
