Richard Hyatt

    Mr. Richard Ray Hyatt, 79, of Sycamore Street, died Friday, October 27 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.    A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, October 31 at Snow Hill Baptist Church in Dobson by the Rev. Gavin Pratt.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.    Mr. Hyatt was born February 2, 1938 in Davidson County to Alexander Thomas Hyatt and Helen Lowery Hyatt.  He faithfully served his country in the US Navy and retired from Piedmont Airlines.  His brothers, Grant Hyatt, and Joe Hyatt, preceded him in death.   He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Hyatt (Pamela) and Richard Hyatt, Jr, both of Lexington; his daughters, Trish Morgan and Karen Woodard (Davis), both of Sylva; his sister, Gracie Hoyle (Monroe) of Bryson City; eight grandchildren, and his significant other, Barbara Lipe.
