Richard Lewis Leonard, 69, of Rockcrusher Road, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at his home.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the funeral home.
Mr. Leonard was born July 7, 1941, in Davidson County, to James Thomas Leonard and Nell Ulmer Leonard. He was a graduate of Davidson County Community College and a retired salesman with Desco. Mr. Leonard was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Leonard.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Young Leonard of the home; sons, Jonathan Leonard and wife, Yasmin, and Scott Mumford and wife, Jennifer, both of Thomasville; daughters, Jennifer Leonard of Welcome and Danielle Mumford of Lexington; five grandchildren, Shaelyn Leoanrd, Peyton Leonard, Kailyn Mumford, all of Thomasville, Kyrsten Mumford of Winston-Salem and Ethan Mumford of Lexington; brothers, Jim Leonard and wife, Julia, and Steve Leonard and wife, Helen, both of Lexington; special brother-in-law, Johnny Young of Lexington; and best friend, Paul “Bo” Jackson of Denton.
