Richard E. Martin, III, age 61 of Weisner Street, Winston Salem, passed away Saturday night (01-10-2009) atRichard E. Martin, III, age 61 of Weisner Street, passed away Saturday night (01-10-2009) at Forsyth Medical Center. A service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday (1-14-2009) in the Mausoleum Chapel of Parklawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Ray Hamilton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
Richard was born in Forsyth County June 17, 1947 to Richard Earl Martin, Jr. and Virginia Dare Pope Martin. He was employed with Maintenance at Sleep Inn in Winston Salem and of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are: Wife, Martha Jean Hall Martin of the home; two sons, James R. Greer and wife Hope of Kernersville and Robert A. Greer and Fiancee’ Dawn Striffler of Winston Salem; four grandchildren, Will and Anna Groce and Destiney and Zoey Greer.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel.
