Richard "Rick" Gene Miller, Sr.

Richard “Rick” Gene Miller, Sr. 68 passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Rick was born on June 4, 1946 in Forsyth County to Samuel “Sam” Pierson Miller and Annie Lee White Miller. He was a graduate of North Davidson High School, served in the US Army and worked at M & L Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his father a brother Jerry Miller and sister, Annette Sink. Surviving are sons, Ricky Gene Miller, Jr. (Shelby) and Randy Scott Miller (Paige) all of Lexington; the mother of his two sons, Wanda Jeanette Black; daughter, Wendy Gail Sharpe (Brad) of Reeds; brothers, David Miller (Sue), Dale Miller (Una) all of Lexington, Donald Miller of Winston-Salem; sister Joyce Norman of Lexington; grandchildren, Leah, Kayli, Zoey, Chelsea, Bailey, Foster, Josh, Brandi, Cody, Logan and Eli; great-grandchildren, Toby and Bree; a special friend and co-worker Brack Beasley. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
