Richard Barton Shoaf

Richard Barton Shoaf, age 78 of Muirfield Drive, Lexington passed away Monday morning July 6, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Tyro United Methodist Church, where he was a member with Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church foyer from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service. Richard was born in Davidson County January 19, 1937 to Floyd H. “Pete” Shoaf and Carrye Lackey Shoaf. He was a retired employee of Integon/GMAC and was an avid Tarheel fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Ann Shoaf and a brother, Gene S. Shoaf. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Dinkins Shoaf of the home, Sister, Paige Simpson of Lexington; nephews, Stan Shoaf (Robin) of Clemmons, Andrew Simpson of Lexington; nieces, Brenna Long (Marty) and Melinda Vestal (David) all of Yadkinville; great niece, Kristi Shoaf; great-nephews, Connor and Carson Long; sister-in-law, Kay Chamberlain of Yadkinville.
