Richard Alexander Wyrick, 79, a resident of Linwood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and family at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He was born in Rowan County on March 15, 1942 to the late Stedman “Ted” and Lula Bostian Wyrick. He retired from PPG after 32 years of service. Richard was a man who was filled with love for his family, a passion for serving others, and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Richard was a man of many talents. He was a craftsman who could build and fix anything. Richard was a member of Psalm 91 Church in Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Psalm 91 Church. The family will greet friends after the service at the church. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Doris Wyrick of the home; a daughter, Mandy McKinney (Charlie) of Tyro; sons, Todd Wyrick (Laurie) of Salisbury, Tim Wyrick (Nancy) of Salisbury, and Tracey Wyrick (Ingrid) of Albemarle; grandchildren, Natalie Hicks (Matt), Sawyer Wyrick, Sierra Salvanero (Dino), Samuel Wyrick, Seth Wyrick, Leah Wyrick, Travis Causey (Sarah), and CJ McKinney; great-grandchildren, Annaleigh, Abby, Silas, and TJ; a brother, Larry Wyrick of Salisbury, and a special pet, Foxy.
