Rick Benfield

Rick Wayne Benfield, 79, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Mallard Ridge.

Rick was born on January 29, 1946, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Carl and Lorene Martin Benfield. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Rick lived a life full of faith, music, and love for his family.

He enjoyed riding his bike, reading his Bible, and sharing his gift of music. A talented singer, Rick performed in many church duos throughout the years, blessing others with his voice. He was also a passionate NC State fan, cheering on his team with pride.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Andy Benfield (Kelli) of Lewisville; his daughter, Cherlene Stout (Matthew) of Winston-Salem; sisters, Rebecca Griffith (Jeff) of Myrtle Beach and Sandy Riddle of Matthews; and three grandchildren, Ethan Stout, Abby Robles (Daniel), and Isabel Benfield.

A graveside service to honor Rick’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201.
