Ricky Joe Carver

Ricky Joe Carver, 65, of North Pointe Drive, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2014, at his home. A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Don Clement. Burial with military honors will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 until 12 p.m. prior to the service. Ricky was born in Albemarle on Nov. 10, 1948, to Grady Wilbur and Edna Pickler Carver. He was a retired employee of Tyco. He served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam 1969-1970 and received the Purple Heart in addition to many other awards. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Carver of the home; daughters Joy Michelle Carver of Lexington and Amy Carver Pasquale and husband Gene of Clemmons; grandchildren Amanda Carver, Ryan Tillotson, Kayla Norman and Kel Norman; sister Pat McKastkill of Burlington; and brothers Ronnie Carver and Terry Carver, both of Greensboro, and Carl Carver of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
