Riera Craver Byerly

Riera Craver Byerly, 87 of Old Salisbury Road, passed away early Sunday morning in Bermuda Commons after a period of declining health. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 14, at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bob Peak. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Ree was born in the Reeds community of Davidson County, April 27, 1924 to Lloyd Everett Craver Sr. and Ruth Martin Craver. She worked as a secretary many years for various businesses in Lexington and Winston-Salem. Her passions were in cooking and sewing. She was a member of Advent Moravian Church, where she was past president of the women’s fellowship, a past Sunday school teacher, and a past member of the board of trustees. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Lloyd E. Craver Jr. and Robert “Bobby” M. Craver. Surviving Ree, are her husband of 67 years Virgil Byerly of the home, two sons Fred Byerly and wife Jeanette of Winston-Salem, and Phil Byerly and wife Marcia, of Kernersville. Also surviving are one grandson, Dr. Adam L Byerly and wife Karen, and great- grandchildren, Emma and Benjamin Byerly all of Grand Junction, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
