Robert "Bob" Cecil

Robert Keith Cecil Jr, age 70, of Lexington passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Holly Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. Matthew Smith officiating.   The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of Keith and Lori Cecil.   Mr. Cecil was born on November 25, 1947 in Davidson County to Robert Keith Cecil Sr. and Ethel Minnie Yow Cecil. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served his country from 1968-1971. He was a retired electrician, having worked for Davidson County Schools and owned Cecil Electric. Bob was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and was passionate about fishing, cooking, and gardening. He also served his community through coaching little league baseball and football.     Survivng are his three sons, Keith Cecil (Lori), Johnny Cecil, and Joey Cecil all of Lexington; 2 grandchildren, Trey Cecil (Olivia) and Drake Cecil; his companion of 10 years, Rose Wilson and her grandson, TJ Duncan.   In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Barnes; and his granddaughter, Lauren Cecil.   Memorials may be directed to Lauren’s Ladder at 7182 NC Hwy 8 Lexington, NC 27292.
