Robert "Bobby" Cathell Powell

Robert “Bobby” Cathell Powell, age 83 of Pine Top Road, Lexington passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday February 24, 2017 at East End Baptist Church with Pastors Tim Gainey and Wayne Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military honors given by Davidson county Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30-1:30 prior to the service. Bobby was born in Davidson County April 30, 1933 to Raymond Edgar Powell and Ruth Jarvis Powell. He was a retired employee of Fleet Transport, a member of East End Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, R.G. Powell. Surviving are his wife, Frankie Darnell Powell of the home; daughter, Vickie McCarn (Binky) of Lexington; son, Robert Dale Powell of Lexington; grandchildren, Kelly Thompson (Eddie) and Andrew McCarn; brothers Odell and David Powell of Lexington.
