Robert Edgar Bowman

Robert Edgar Bowman, age 71 of Greensboro Street Ext. Lexington passed away Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Walser and Elder Clarence Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of his daughter, Missy Everhart 503 Indian Wells Circle.

Robert was born in Partick County, Virginia on January 20, 1947 to Millard Hassel Bowman and Carrie Goins Bowman. He was a veteran of the US Army; a retired employee of Pike Electric, a former employee of Coble Dairy and was a member and former volunteer fireman with Triangle Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife, Jane McBride Bowman of the home; daughters, Debbie Lowman (Randy) of Richfield, Missy Everhart (Danny) and Pam Morris (Tony) all of Lexington; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Polly Sloan (Leslie) of Mt. Airy and Vivian Whitley (Jeff) of Kentucky; brothers, Junior Bowman (Sandy) and Willie Bowman (Margaret) all of Lexington.
