Robert Wayne Cartrette, 58, of Becky Hill Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at his home after an illness of one year.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Revs. Randy Lucas and Carroll Lupton Jr. Burial will be in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Cartrette was born Feb. 13, 1948, in Columbus County to Daniel Cartrette and Beulah Powell Cartrette. He was a kind and loving husband, father and best friend. He worked 28 years for Coble Dairy and recently for Hekman Furniture. He was preceded in death by five brothers, John Cartrette, James Cartrette, George Cartrette, Donald Cartrette and Jim Cartrette, and a sister, Eva Lee.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kaye Dorsett Cartrette of the home; one son, Robert Cartrette Jr.; two daughters, Deana Hargan and her husband, Todd, and Andrea Walser and her husband, Joey, all of Lexington; six grandchildren, Jordan Surratt, Ashleigh Hargan, Haley Hargan, Emma Hargan, Zoe Walser and Kaedenze Walser; four brothers, Ben Cartrette and his wife, Bonnie, of Pulaski, Va., Elbert Cartrette of Wilson, and Auburn Cartrette and his wife, Jean, and Sam Cartrette and his wife, Alice, all of Lexington; and two sisters, Geneva Hill and his twin sister, Faye Howell, and her husband, Jack, all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
