Robert Charles

Robert Eugene “Whitey” Charles, age 69 of Rosemary Drive, Lexington died Friday morning in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Lexington City Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Whitey was born in Davidson County October 8, 1937 to Jacob Charles and Eunice Bailey Charles. He was owner-operator of Charles Cleaning Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rita Porr Charles September 11, 1993, and a brother Joe Charles. Surviving are: Sisters; Nora Charles, Alice Layton and Blanche Welch all of Lexington; and a brother Russell Charles and wife Betty of High Point, Nieces; Joni Leonard and husband Michael of Lexington and Tonda Morefield and husband Richard of Salisbury.
