Robert Eugene Craver, 73, of Swicegood Road, Linwood, Tyro community, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at his home.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tyro United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Randy Foster. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Mr. Craver was born in Davidson County on Feb. 4, 1937, to Raymond Eugene Craver and Carrie Swicegood Craver. He was retired from American Engineering Plastic. He was a life member of Amvets Post #13. Mr. Craver will be remembered for being a very loving husband, father and grandfather and he touched everyone around him with his humorous personality. He was also an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Berlin crisis. His grandson, Brandon Craver; and brothers, Johnny Clifton Craver and Devid Lee Craver, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Eva Crisp Craver of the home; son Robert "Rob" Craver Jr. and wife Brandi of Tyro; daughters, Kim Craver Rudzinski and husband Steven of Arcadia and Tammy Craver Royall of Tyro; grandchildren, Amber Rudzinski Sain and husband Tracy, Ashley Rudzinski, Cody Byerly, Cory Byerly, Madison Yountz and Bree Craver; his first great-grandson is expected in December; sister Doris Craver Ginn of Tyro; and a very special nephew, John Craver.
