Mr. Robert Gibson, 89, of Lexington, passed away Sunday April 6, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday April12, 2025 at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Pastor Mark Rachels officiating services. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service 10:00am - 11:00am. Mr. Gibson was born November 27,1935 in Rock Cave, Upsher County, West Virginia to Cline Gibson and Aleta Lane Gibson. Robert was a member of Lexington First Pentecostal Church. He served and retired from the United States Air Force serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his free time, he took pleasure in working on his yard. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 16 years, Ruby "Boots" Gibson; a brother, Richard Gibson; two sisters, Polly Kelly and Betty Lewis, 3 grandchildren and 1 step-grandchild. Surviving are two sons, Randy Gibson (Lore) of Lafayette Indiana, and RJ Gibson of Rock Cave West Virginia; one daughter, Vanessa Hollinger (Dean) of Fort Bridger Wyoming; one brother, two sisters, Helen Riffle of Rock Cave, West Virginia and Mildred Lewis Summersville West Virginia; steps sons, Marty Parks (Lori) Denton, and Dale Parks of Lexington; one step daughter, Kimmie Hester of Lexington; 5 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren and special friend, Louise Ayers.
