Robert Lee Hege, Jr.

Robert Lee Hege, Jr. (aka Bobby) took his last train ride to heaven. His loved ones that have taken their train ride before him are: his wife, Helen “Peewee” Hege; his parents, Jerusha and Robert Hege; twin sister, Ruby; brother, David Hege; sister, Bettie Lanier; granddaughters, Samantha Hege and little Michelle Hege; and daughter-in-law, Joni Hege.

“Bobby” leaves behind his brother, Richard Hege; his sisters, Mary Staley and Joyce Hubbard; his children, Mike Hege (Pam) Ricky Hege (Angela), Michelle Hege (Eva), Robbie Hege (Angie), Ernest Hege (Angela) and his nephew, Little Robert (Uncle George’s best buddy). He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A graveside service is planned for 2:30 pm, Monday, January 7, 2019 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens officiated by Chaplain, David Kolb. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service for a 1:00pm - 2:00pm visitation at Davidson Funeral home, Hickory Tree Chapel.

He wore many hats of love; “Husband, Dad, Pop, Paw-paw Pop-Pop, Papi and Brother.”

Letter to Dad

Dad,

You’re very special, you mean so much to us.

There aren’t many Dad’s like you, who give so selflessly.

When life has turned my world completely inside out, you’re always there to lean on. I know without a doubt, whenever things go wrong, and I didn’t understand I knew that you would be there to lend a helping hand.

The years have brought a touch of gray and some lines upon your face, but, to me there’s not another dad who could ever take your place.
