Robert "Horsey" Edward Cannon

Robert Edward "Horsey" Cannon, 74, of White Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in Chatham County. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wayside Baptist Church, where he was a member, by the Revs. Roger Lackey and Joe Marler. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Cannon was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Davidson County to James Holbert Cannon and Lilly Mae Lamb Cannon. He retired from the Lexington Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Church Cannon of the home; one daughter, Jackie Ellis of Lexington; one brother, Eugene Cannon of Lexington; and one grandchild, Paul "PJ" Ellis Jr. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
