Robert Lee Ingram, 79, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Billy Pearson. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall.
Mr. Ingram was born, April 2, 1929, in Yadkin County, to Julius Glenn Ingram and Eva Mae Jennings Ingram. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired mechanic from J.W. Buress Construction, Winston-Salem. He was also a member of Southmont Lions Club, American Legion, Shriners Club and Moose Lodge. Mr. Ingram was a member of Stoners Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Craig Ingram; and brothers, Lawrence Thomas Ingram, James Franklin Ingram, and Hugh Glenn Ingram.
Surviving are his wife, Josephine Ingram of the home; son, Charles “Chuck” Ingram and fiancé, Detie White, of Lexington; a daughter, Debbie Samuels and husband, Gary, of Winston-Salem; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Zeta Beamon of Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
