Robert Borges Kopper

Robert ‘Bob’ Borges Kopper, 87, of Lexington, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his home on High Rock Lake.

Bob was born to Edward Carl Kopper and Norma Marian Borges on November 19, 1932 in Cleveland, OH.  He married his childhood sweetheart, June Carol Weber, on June 20, 1953 and had three children.  Bob graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1955 and then earned his Piano Technician Credentials from Oberlin College.  In addition to his love of Piano Tuning, Bob was active in Music and Worship Ministry at Lutheran Church of the Covenant in Maple Hts., Zion Lutheran Church in Maple Hts., Bethel Lutheran Church in Middleburg Hts., and Christ the King Lutheran Church in North Olmsted.  Bob loved praising and worshipping Jesus through music and had a heart for sharing that love with everyone around him.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, June Carol (Weber); children, Paul Edwin, Eric Allen (Jeanne), and Ruth Louise Klimek Saydell (Gregg); grandchildren, Joelle Lee Glinski, Robert Allen, Jonathan Michael Klimek, Emily Jeanne, Allison Joy Bisig (Patrick), Christopher Thomas Klimek, Morgan Everett, and Simon Edward; great-grandchildren, Isabella Juliet Klimek, Delilah June Klimek, and Cohen Judah Klimek; and brother David Edward (Margaret).  Bob was preceded in death by grandson, Brian Edward Kopper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607; Cleveland Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, 4515 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44103; or In-Touch Ministries, P.O. Box 7900, Atlanta, GA 30357.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Busch Funeral Home, 4334 Pearl Road, Cleveland, OH.  The family will receive friends and family prior to the service beginning at 9:30 am.  Inurnment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.  Pastor Tom Slater of Gateway Community Church will officiate.
