Robert Sylvester Leash, age 83 of Brown Street, Lexington passed away Monday, March 28, 2016 at his home.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Lexington City Cemetery with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 4 to 6 pm Friday and other times at the home.
Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA June 29, 1932, to Clarence Charles Leash and Marion Virginia Leash. He was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; four sisters; granddaughter; great-grandson; and a nephew.
Surviving are his wife Thelma Sweigert Leash of the home; daughters, Marion Virginia Harvell (Ronald) of Lexington and Helen Leash of Siler City; son, William Leash of Lexington; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian “Pinky” Howard of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Raymond Leash of Belington, W.VA.; and two nieces.
