Robert Christian Mackinnon

Robert Christian MacKinnon, age 57 of Lexington, NC, passed away of natural causes in his home on July 7th, 2018.     Rob was born in Hickory, NC and lived there during many of his earlier years. Over the course of his life, he also lived in Johnson City, TN, Pensacola, FL, the Canal Zone, Panama, Boone, NC, Melbourne, FL, and eventually, Lexington, NC.    He attended Appalachian State University, during which time, he studied Music, one of his greatest loves. He later earned his nursing degree from Davidson County Community College and worked as a nurse and caregiver throughout his adult career, while also performing music as a  favorite hobby.    He is survived by his son, David Michael MacKinnon, his daughters, Kathrine Eliza MacKinnon and Jillian Wallis MacKinnon, his son, Samuel Robert MacKinnon, his brother, Michael Alan MacKinnon, and his sister, Kathrine Elizabeth MacKinnon.  He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Cleveland MacKinnon, his mother, Nell Storey MacKinnon, and his brother, Wallace Oxford MacKinnon.   The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
