Robert Troy Mcgirt

Robert T. McGirt, age 77, of Lake Drive #6, Lexington passed away at his home Tuesday night (November 23, 2010). Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday (November 27, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Brinkley and Chris Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 9:30 until 11:00 am Saturday prior to the service. Robert was born in Robeson County, December 8, 1932 to Alton Edison McGirt and Sally Rachel Smith McGirt. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of PPG. He served his country in the National Guard in Temple, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sarah Waddell. Surviving are: three daughters, Susie Sink and husband Danny of Lexington, Patty Brinkley and husband Ray and Shirley Lavin and husband Dr. Bill Lavin all of Ohio; one son Robert David McGirt and wife Rhonda of Germanton; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one sister Mary Turner and husband Johnny of Newton; one brother, Buddy McGirt and wife Hildagard of Raeford and a dear friend, Hazelene Davis.
