Robert Parks

Mr. Robert Edward Parks, 98, of The Cottages at Brushy Creek, SC, formerly of Hickory Point Drive, Lexington, NC, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at the nursing facility. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 19 at Forest Hill Memorial Park, by Rev. Melinda Penry. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Monday at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Parks was born January 11, 1912, in Davidson County, to Convy Parks and Mattie Owens Parks. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor, later he was employed for 13 years at L.A. Reynolds as a supervisor. He was also worked as carpenter, building furniture. He was married to Virginia Jordan Parks, who preceded him in death on March 7, 2004. Surviving are his daughter, Robin Norville of Charlotte; four grandchildren, Scott Norville and wife, Kathy, of Greer S.C., Kelly Earley, Kim Norville, and Allison Hergott and husband, Greg, all of Charlotte; seven great-grandchildren, Asia Hergott, Hannah Hergott, Madison Hergott, Jack Hergott, Brittany Earley, all of Charlotte, Lindsay Norville and Laney Norville, both of Greer, S.C.
