Robert Austin Patneau

Robert Patneau, a proud Veteran of the Marine Corp, age 84, passed away peacefully, March 10, 2024.

Robert was born January 23, 1940, in New Orleans to Robert Arthur Patneau and Dorothy Young Patneau. He attended Hillsdale College and earned his Bachelors Degree in business. At the age of 22, Robert earned his commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp. Robert valued this service highly and attained the rank of Captain. While serving two tours in Vietnam, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

A graveside service honoring the life of Robert will be held, 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive family and friends after the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dawn Hackenberg Patneau, son Jeffrey Robert Patneau.

Surviving are his son, Jonathan Patneau, daughter Farah Tucker (Jonathan), two grandchildren, Jacob Jeffery Patneau and Hayley Brooke Patneau, brothers; Austin Patneau (Kathleen), George Patneau (Cindy), James Patneau (Annette).

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in memory of Robert to be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
