Robert Roswell Tate, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the age of 95. A long-time resident of Lexington, North Carolina, Robert was born on May 31, 1929, in his home state of North Carolina.
Robert was a proud graduate of Wake Forest College. He worked over 50 years in Medical Sales. He was honored as a top salesman for many consecutive years. Following retirement, he went back to college and received a degree as a Pharmacy Technician. He worked and taught in that field until he was 90 years old.
Robert was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Marvin Tate; Doris Yarbrough Tate, his cherished wife, Evelyn Brown Tate and 1 grandchild, Annie Catherine Everhart.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his two devoted daughters, Nancy Yonts and Susan Tucker, along with her husband Lewis, both residing in Winston-Salem; one brother, James Tate (Lee) of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Zachary Hall of Greensboro, Lindsay Nichols of Greensboro, Daniel Hall (Morgan) of Lynchburg Virginia; 2 step-grandsons Shawn Tucker (Donna) and Cameron Tucker (Kim); 4 great-grandchildren, Quinn Nichols, Elliott Hall, Emerson Hall, Miller Hall; 4 step-great grandchildren, Jacob, Luke, Carlie and Morgan and nephew, Steven Tate. Robert's family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Robert's life will be celebrated with arrangements provided by Davidson Funeral Home. A graveside will be held 2:00 Friday December 27, 2024 at Forest Hill Memorial park with Rev. Dr. Ray Howell III officiating services. There will be no formal visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert's memory to First Baptist Church of Lexington 201 W. 3rd Ave. Lexington NC 27292, or Davidson County Hospice 200 Hospice Way Lexington NC 27292, reflecting his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
