Robert Bradley Thomason, Jr. died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 10, 2016, with his family at his side. He was 81 years old.
Mr. Thomason was born September 19, 1934 in Davidson County to Robert Bradley Thomason, Sr. and Ethel Fritts Thomason. He graduated from NC State University in 1960 with a degree in mechanical engineering, and was the former owner-operator of Acme Plumbing & Heating Company. “Pop” was a strong Christian, and a dedicated member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death was a childhood sister Sarah Elizabeth Thomason, a brother George Arnold Thomason, and a granddaughter Beth Marie Burchette.
Surviving are his wife, Edith Grey Fritts “Shorty” Thomason of the home; four children, Robert Bradley Thomason III (Kandace) of Winston-Salem, Marie Annette Burchette (Robert), Arnold Gray Thomason, and Angie Leigh Pierce (Eddie) all of Lexington; 9 grandchildren, Chelsea Moriah Thomason, Evan Bradley Thomason, Kelly Michelle Burchette, Emily Grace Burchette, Jake Arnold Thomason, Hannah Grey Fox (Nate), James Thomas Tilley, Amber Leigh Pierce, and Marie Ann Pierce; and three sisters, Bettie Ann Linville, Cassandra Mitchell (Eddie) both of Winston-Salem, and Alice Long (Richard) of Scappoose, Oregon.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with Rev. Duncan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at the church, just prior to the service, and other times at the home.
