Robert Sherman Walton, 75, of Parks Road, died Friday night, Jan. 11, 2008, at his home.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church by the Rev. Clyde Akers. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with military graveside rites by Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Walton was born in Randolph County on March 13, 1932, to James Wilson Walton and Susan Kinney Walton. He was a retired employee of Gordon Veneer, attended Freedom Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Reece Kearns Walton of the home; two sons, Mark Walton and his wife, Crystal, and Randy Walton and his wife, Tonya, all of Lexington; one daughter, Ann Polk and her husband, Johnny, of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Adam Polk, Emily Polk, Ashley Walton, Breanna Walton, Brett Woodard, Brittany Woodard and Ella Reece Walton; a brother, Jimmy Walton of Kernersville; and a sister, Jackie Carlton and her husband, Buck, of Winston-Salem.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at home.
