Robert Franklin Warren, 74, of Rowe Road, Lexington, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A private burial will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park on Monday, May 17, where he will be entombed with his wife of 32 years, Maxine Koontz Wesson Warren, who passed in 2004. There will be no formal visitation. Born in Lenoir, October 5, 1935, he was the son of Woodrow and Margaret Warren. At the age of 18, he proudly joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Donaldson Air Force Base, Greenville, SC. He also served in France. Bob was a retired electrical engineer. Although considered eccentric by friends and family, he was near genius with electrical and mechanical problems, and was always willing to assist his loved ones with his expertise. Bob delighted in playing computer games and e-bay auctions. He was also a member of the York Rites Masons and Hejaz Shriners of Spartanburg. Survivors include his son, Michael Terrence Warren, and a step-son, Richard Wesson and wife, Kathy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, his parents, Woodrow and Margaret Warren, a sister, Emma Ann Warren, and a son, David Warren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
