Robert Wilkerson-Tussey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert Wilkerson-Tussey on June 9, 2022, at the young age of 55. Robert was born in Lexington, NC on October 14, 1966, to Charles Holland and Melba Sealey Tussey. (predeceased) Robert was the manager of Noche Restaurant in Atlanta, GA for many years before moving back to NC in 2017. He was employed at Childress Vineyards for only a short time until his passing but had already made many friends and felt so blessed to be a part of the Childress family. Robert will be remembered for his wonderful cooking, his excellent management skills, traveling especially to see his favorite group, Duran Duran. He will also be remembered for his love for animals especially cats and his love for his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved and devoted husband, Pate Wilkerson-Tussey, his sisters, Holly Farrell (Greg), Bonnie Nicholson (Charlie), one brother, Tim Tussey, his aunts, Donese Leonard and Lala Beeker Tussey, his mother in law, Elizabeth Brooks and her partner Rodney Copeland, his dear friends, Lillian Hare, Juana Cline and Mike Slack and his precious cats, “Iris” and “Baby Cat” along with a loving extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral service will be Monday, June 13 at 3:00 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at his home church, Beulah United Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank Childress Vineyards, Magnolia Creek, as well as all family and friends for their concern, love, support and prayers during this difficult time.
