Roby Franklin Floyd, age 88 of NC Highway 47, Lexington passed away Sunday morning October 25, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday October 29, 2015 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Heitman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 until 3:30 prior to the service.
Roby was born in Davidson County January 15, 1927 to Wiley Franklin Floyd and Caroline Belle Parks Floyd. He was of the Baptist faith and owner/operator of Floyd Sawmill and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie Heitman Floyd on February 28, 1995; sisters, Fallie Haltom and Ruth Surratt; brothers, Harlan, James, Sr., Foy, Arnold (Bob), and Ray Floyd.
Surviving are his daughters, Paulette F. Chilton (Barry) and Lori F. Whitfield (William) all of Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Pennie Kennedy Wilson (Richard), Travis McCoy (Heather), Lezley Humphrey (Heath), Dustin Whitfield (Jennifer) and Chayce Langston (Kassi); 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Floyd of Lexington; sister-in-laws, Shirley Rhodes, Myrtle Everhart and Vernell Sutherland; brother-in-law, Rodney Heitman (Jeanette); numerous nieces and nephews.
