Roby Leonard

Roby Allison Leonard, 94, of Greenway Drive, died Monday, July 9, 2007, at his home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Banks Shepherd. Mr. Leonard was born in Davidson County on December 30, 1912, to Allison Leonard and Frances Shaw Leonard. He was owner/operater of Roby A. Leonard Wholesale Company, former deacon at First Reformed United Church of Christ, served on Salvation Army Board, received distinguished service award, received certificate of Life Membership, and served on Board of Directors of Security Bank and Trust. Surviving are his wife, Hilda Dorsett Leonard; son, Don Leonard of Pawleys Island, SC; daughter, Jane Leonard of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Beth Szymeczek of Wilmington and Anne Pagnani of Washington, NC; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 East Center Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
