Roby Hall Tysinger, 89, of Highway 47, died Thursday, February 23, 2012, at his home following an illness of two weeks.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Norman officiating. Burial will follow with Military graveside rites by Davidson County Honor Guard at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the funeral home and other times at the home of his grandson, Leonard Felker, on Allred Road.
Mr. Tysinger was born July 28, 1922, in Davidson County, to John Franklin Tysinger and Cora Belle Bailey Tysinger. He was a retired logger and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Tysinger proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of DAV Chapter 66 where he was also a past commander. He was also a past member of VFW Post 3074. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nona Branson Tysinger; brothers, Raymond Tysinger, Norman Tysinger, Claude Tysinger, and Lawrence Tysinger; and sisters, Myrtle Roach and Bessie McKinney.
Surviving are daughter, Toni Norman and husband, Doug, of Lexington; grandson, Leonard D. Felker, of Lexington; four great-grandchildren, Tabitha LeAnn Felker, Bradley D. Felker and fiancée, Kimberly Colen, Blair Davis and Kris Davis; four great-great-grandchildren, Bethany Felker, Ashlyn Felker, Lisa Colen, and Dagan Condrey; brother, Don Tysinger and wife, Maude, of Lexington; sister-in-law, Irene Tysinger of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Lisa Collett.
