Rodney "Rod" Dale Kerley

Rodney Dale “Rod” Kerley, of Lexington, passed away July 13, 2024, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the residence of Denny and Traci Kerley, at 1635 City Lake Rd, Lexington, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.

Rod was born August 24, 1967, in Lexington, to Jackie and Judy Kerley. Rod was a talented mechanic by trade. He held an immeasurable love for mud racing that was instilled in him at an early age by his dad. He and his brother, Denny, began racing their own mud trucks in the early 2000’s. Rod had an impeccable eye for track conditions that would help guide the drivers to multiple Kerley Racing team wins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judy Kerley.

He is survived by his wife, Lauri Kerley; son, Jax Kerley; father, Jackie Kerley; brother, Denny Kerley and wife Traci Kerley; half-brother, Tommy Hampton and wife, Sandy Hampton; nephew DJ Kerley and fiancé, Brook Hayes; and great nephew, Caden Kerley.
