Roger Dale Blevins, 56, of Lexington, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church by Preacher David S. Blevins Jr. and the Rev. Jeff Walser. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Blevins was born September 2, 1951, in Elizabethton, Tenn., to David Salomon Blevins and Evelyn Miller Blevins. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and worked at Lexington Furniture Industries. He was preceded in death by his father; wife, Florence Buckner Blevins; and brothers, Phillip Blevins and Bill Blevins.
Surviving are daughters, Mary Blevins Ausborne of Winston-Salem, and Kathy Sue Hernandez of Martinsville, Va.; four grandchildren, A.J. Ausborne and Denzel Ausborne, both of Lexington, Dana Harris and Amanda Willard, both of Martinsville, Va.; one great-grandchild, Talan Ausborne of Lexington; brothers, David S. Blevins Jr., Tommy Blevins, both of Lexington and Vernon Blevins of Del, Mi.; and sisters, Mary Green of Johnson City, Tenn., Patricia Grubb of Denton, and Donna Shaw of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother, 1407 Cotton Grove Road.
