Roger Harold Byrd

Roger Harold Byrd, 72, of Laurel Avenue in Lexington, died Friday March 11, 2022 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday March 16, 2022 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel   with Rev. James Byrd and Rev. Raymond Byrd officiating services. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Mr. Byrd was born February 11, 1950 in Davidson County to Handy Menston Byrd and Arietta Ada Crawly Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a member of First Baptist Church in Welcome and a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ralph Byrd, Dewey Byrd and Buddy Byrd; and three sisters, Louise Reville, Pansy Wall and Judy Dickens.

Surviving are former wife Betty Byrd of Lexington; four brothers, Rev. Raymond Byrd (Martha) of Moorsboro North Carolina, Rev. James Byrd (Judy) of Lexington, Jack Byrd (Margaret) of Lexington, and Jerry Byrd (Sally) of Lexington; one sister Yvonne Wilson of Welcome; and a niece and caregiver, April Hamby.
