Roger Samuel Canada

Roger Samuel Canada, 93, of South Shore Drive Lexington, died Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Hinkle Hospice House of Lexington. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday July 26, 2016 at Macedonia United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Pastor Joe Parker, Rev. Tammy Talbert and Rev. Dennis Hester officiating services. Burial will follow at Saint Delight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Kernersville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Tuesday at the church. Mr. Canada was born September 19, 1922 in Forsyth County to Elmer Henry Canada and Carrie Ruth Hines Canada. Mr. Canada sang with the Ralph Hayes Trio Gospel Group, he never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that met him, he was a special angel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruby Amos Canada, and his second wife Mary Charles Fowler Canada; a brother Bobby Canada; three sisters, Ethel Nelson, Lucille Canada and Fleta Canada; a great-grandchild Addison Simmons; two brother-in-laws, George Matthews and I.J. Nelson; and a grandson in law Allan Picklesimer Surviving are three daughters, Shelby Culler of Southmont, Nancy Clodfelter and husband Junior of Union Cross NC, and Ann Canada and husband Charlie of Kernersville; two brothers, Dale Canada and wife Glenda, and Neil Canada and wife Jackie, both of Kernersville NC; one sister, Lolene Matthews of Kernersville; a sister-in-law Dorothy Canada of Kernersville; six grandchildren, Annette Picklesimer of Southmont, Beth Clodfelter of Kernersville, Julie Stiplin and husband Keith of Union Cross, Amy Simmons of Kernersville, Lisa Canada of Kernersville and Dean Young and wife Vanessa of Kernersville.
