Roger Moorefield

Roger Eugene Moorefield, 70, of Swicegood Road Linwood, passed away with his loving family by his side, Sunday October 6, 2013 at his home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday October 8, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church in Salisbury, where he was a member, with Revs. Darrell Worley and Samuel Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel and other times at the home on Swicegood Road. Mr. Moorefield was born May 21, 1943, in Forsyth County to James Oliver Moorefield and Hazel Reid Moorefield. He was retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; nephew, Tommy Freeman; and a great-grandchild, Cash Michael. Surviving is his wife, Kaye Hanes Moorefield of the home; a son, Bryon Moorefield of Lexington; a daughter, Hope Creswell and husband, Mike; two brothers, John Moorefield and wife, Kathy, and Jerry Moorefield and wife, Gayle, both of Lexington; two sisters, Frances Swicegood and husband, Buddy, of Lexington and Brenda Berrier of Archdale; six grandchildren, Faith Nazzaro and husband, Tom, Trey Michael and wife, Liz, Summer Moorefield, Parker Moorefield, Madison Creswell, and Breana Underwood; one great-grandchild, Nicolas Nazzaro, one expected great-grandchild; and three sisters-in-law, Penny Cannady and husband, Rick, Jane Freeman and husband, Tom, both of Lexington, and Suzie Moorefield of Climax.
