Roger Nelson

Roger Lewis Nelson, age 78, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home.  A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 pm Sunday,  June 21, 2020 at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Frankie Matthews with military honors by the US Army. The family will see friends from 1-2 pm prior and at other times at his home. A private inurnment will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson was born August 7, 1941 in Scioto County Ohio to Albert Nelson and Gertrude Hornbach Nelson. He retired from AEP Electric  and honorably served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church.

Surviving are his loving wife, Nedina Lou Evans Nelson of the home. His son, Jeffery Nelson (Tracy Stump) of Lexington and his daughter, Cindy West (David) of Johnstown, Ohio. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Evan Poling (Lauren) and Eric Poling.
