Roger "Robin" Beck

November 20, 1946 — December 11, 2021

Sergeant Major Roger "Robin” Beck, USMC (Ret), 75 of Lexington, NC died Saturday December 11, 2021 at his home.

A celebration of life will be held Friday December 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Holly Grove Lutheran Church where he was a devoted member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the United States Marine Corps.The family will receive friends at the grave following the committal service.

Robin was born in Davidson County on November 20, 1946 to Curvie Adam Beck and Kathryn Curtis Beck. He joined the Marine Corps in 1965 and served with distinction in Vietnam. After his initial service in Vietnam, he returned home to Lexington, NC and became a pillar of the community, but remained in the Marine Corps Reserve and ultimately achieved the rank of Sergeant Major.

He was a proud Marine and a true Patriot who loved his flag and serving his country; no finer example. He later retired from the NC Department of Motor Vehicles-License and Theft Division.

Always willing to lend a hand and help in the community, he was a member of the Holly Grove Lutheran Church Men In Mission. He was also a member of the Davis Townsend Lions Club, American Legion Post 8, VFW Post 4073, Crimestoppers, and Central Carolina Civitans. One of his favorite moments was spending time with his cherished "coffee group" at Perfect Blend; the camaraderie they shared meant so much to him.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Karen Black Beck, son Chris Beck and his wife Emily of South Bend In., daughter Anissa Beck Stewart and husband Kevin of Emerald Isle, NC, his brother Neal Beck and wife Carol of Lexington. The joy of his life were his grandchildren and great grandson, Sydney Ayala and husband Pat, Owen Stewart, Quinn & Chloe Beck and great-grandson Tucker. In addition to his immediate family, he loved all of his nieces, nephews, and extended family deeply.
