Rolly Wilson

Rolly Wilson, 91, of Glendale Road, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at his home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Eric Disher. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Wilson was born June 27, 1914, in Yancey County to Jack Wilson and Sue Etta Metcalf Wilson. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Brummett Wilson. He was retired from Dixie Furniture and served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; six brothers, Will, Berge, Jack, Mark, Hugh and Ernie Wilson; and four sisters, Lucy Rice, Addie Rice, Nell Taylor and Carrie Wilson. Surviving are one son, Dale Wilson and his wife, Carol, of Lexington; one daughter, Janet Thompson of Lexington; four grandchildren, Dana Hedrick and her husband, Deane, Ashley Hammond and her husband, Kevin, Wendy Miller and her husband, Jimmy, and Debbie Citta and her husband, Nelson; seven great-grandchildren, Tiffany Bulla and her husband, Randy, Cassie Miller, Kayla Miller, Caroline Citta, Torey Hammond, Logan Hammond and Grayson Hammond; one brother, Glenn Wilson of Lexington; and one sister, Phoebe Sparks of Front Royal, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and other times at the home of the son on Foxcroft Drive.
