Mr. Raymer was born in Utica, NY on December 13, 1970. Ron attended Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute and was a very talented artist. He did beautiful carvings out of antlers and was featured in a local newspaper for his artistry. He also attended Nyack College where he met the love of his live Christine (Carpenter) Raymer. Ron worked at Verizon for many years until an injury and subsequent illness led to an early disability retirement. Ron loved hunting, fishing, and driving his Harley Davidson. His boys were his greatest treasure and joy in life spending time with them and passing many of his interests and hobbies on to them. Ron attended First Alliance Church and had a passion for serving the Lord above all else. All of Ron’s abilities and talents were looked at by him as a way, to connect with people in order to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Ron was a real “gentle man”. He was soft spoken, patient, and always interested in others; he had a unique quality about him that made people feel comfortable with him, and made it easy for them to open up about their lives. This led to Ron being able to share about the Lord. He had many life-long friends that were like family to him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Christine Carpenter Raymer of the home; his two sons, Ezekiel James Raymer and Caleb Paul Raymer both of Lexington; a sister, April Lynn Raymer of Rome, NY; a cousin, who was much like a brother, Robert Allan Gilbert of Utica, NY; in-laws Kenneth and Barbara Carpenter of Ballston Spa NY; sister-in-law, Connie and Dan Crandall of Fort Edward NY; brother-in-law, Robert and Kelsey Carpenter of Essex Vermont; and numerous other extended family members and close friends who loved him dearly. Because Ron was a loving husband, father, and friend, his memory will be forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers, the family and friends have established a GO Fund Me site for the family in order to help with medical expenses.
