Ronald William Hester, Sr., 70, of Pleasant Hills Drive, died Friday, May 2 at Thomasville Medical Center after a sudden illness. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at National Cemetery in Salisbury by the Rev. Kent Hogan. The family will receive friends at home of his son on Maple Court, Lexington. Mr. Hester was born January 27, 1944 in Davidson County to William McKinley Hester and Adaline Davis Hester. He was a retired captain from the Lexington Fire Department and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of American Legion Post 8. His brothers, Wayne Hester, Jimmy C. Hester, and Kenneth Hester, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Wingrove Hester of the home; his mother, of Lexington; his sons, Ronald William Hester, Jr. and wife, Patricia, and Jimmy D. Hester, both of Lexington; his brother, Jerry D. Hester; and his grandchildren, Copelin Hester and Payton Hester.
