Ronald Craig Hicks

Ronald Craig Hicks, 72, passed away on July 29, 2025 at Wake Forrest Baptist Medical Center, surrounded by his daughters. Born on June 11, 1953, to the late Grady Edward and Margaret Allen Hicks, Ron came into this world with an infectious laugh, a remarkable brute strength and an enormous heart.

In life, Ron was a hard working and talented electrician by trade, but being a devoted father, proud PawPaw and loyal friend were the hallmarks of his character. Every time you encountered him you could expect to be greeted by a huge smile and open outstretched arms. He was a remarkable listener with a knack for making you feel like the most important person in his world. Always eager to offer gentle advice, comfort, a quick laugh or a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Talmadge Beck Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his son and three daughters, Ronnie Hicks (Bonni) of Hamptonville; Susan Hall (Troy) of Elkin; Rhea Pegram of Kernersville and Christi Craver of Clemmons. He is also survived by his brothers Ricky Hicks, Danny Hicks and Eddie Hicks along with 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A service honoring Ron’s life will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday August 2, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, with Rev. Danny Pope officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
