Ronald Dallas Hine

Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Dallas Hine, 72, of Friendship Church Road, died Monday, July 5, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 10 ^th at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Pastor Sam Harvey officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.

Ronnie was born on December 21, 1948 in Davidson County to Dallas Charles Hine and Gladys Irene Head Hine.  He retired as parts manager from Peterbilt.  Ronnie was a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church where he was former chairman of trustees and was an active member with the Methodist Men and the Comfort Class.  He will best be remembered for his ability to cook barbeque pork with his own personal sauce recipe and for being a hardworking family man.  He loved spending time with his family, camping and fishing.  Oftentimes, he spent afternoons playing corn hole in family tournaments.  He could always be found at his barn raising his chickens, and loved working with his wife making blackberry jam.  He taught his grandchildren how to hunt deer.  Some of his happiest moments were found playing with his great-grandsons.  His quiet gentle spirit, wise advice, and ability to fix anything will be missed.  He was preceded in death by grandsons, Brandon Hege, Noah Parks and his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Rebecca ‘Becky’ Walser Hine, of the home; daughters, Debbie Hege (Mike) and Kristi Parks (Chris), both of Lexington; grandchildren, Dylan Parks, Ryan Hege (Brittany), Brandi Queen and great-grandchildren, Landan Michael Hege, Colton Andrew Parks and 2 great-granddaughters soon to arrive.  He is also survived by his beloved pet, Bandit, and all of his extended family and many friends left to cherish his memory.
