Ronald Fritts Lamar

Ronald Fritts Lamar, age 80 of Fritts Road, Lexington passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pete Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeds United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, prior to service.

Ronald was born on February 3, 1939 in Guilford County, NC to Jesse Leroy Lamar and Lizzie Fritts Lamar. He was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell. He was a avid NASCAR fan and a gentleman gardener as he gave it away to people in the community and people in need. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joel Wesley Lamar.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Shirley Shelton Lamar of the home; daughters, Carolyn Lamar of Summerton, SC and Julie Cressman (Ronald) of Rockledge, Florida; son, David Lamar (Denise) of Monroe; two grandchildren, Jonathan Lamar and Katherine Lamar.

In lieu of flowers, memorial should be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-9959
