Ronald “Ronnie” Ray Freeman Sr. age 66 of Lexington passed away at his home Thursday, June 4, 2015. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, June 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Welcome with Pastor Mark Blair officiating. Burial will follow to Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel. Ronnie was born May 15, 1949 in Davidson County to Wilburn Lewis Freeman Sr. and Annie Lou Holder Freeman. He attended First Baptist Church of Welcome and retired with 36 years of service to the City of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 38 years Shirley Smith Freeman of the home, daughter; Dawn Freeman Mote (Frank) of Lexington, sons; Ronald Ray Freeman Jr. (Christina) of Tyro, Paul Michael Freeman (Amanda) of Churchland, brother; Wilburn Lewis Freeman Jr. of Lexington, six grandchildren and four great-grand children.
